The light blue is much paler than the navy of the Australian and New Zealand ensigns and is the fastest way to identify it. The shield is the full national arms minus the supporters and motto. Fiji is one of only a handful of republics still flying another country's flag in its canton. ## What the colours mean *Flag laws usually specify a Pantone chip, a CMYK mix or just a colour name.
