**Frutiger: Adrian Frutiger, 1976**

Designed specifically for the signage at Charles de Gaulle Airport, where the requirement was legibility at distance, at an angle, and to people walking quickly. Its open apertures and distinct letter shapes make it work at sizes and angles where Helvetica turns to mush, which is why it and its descendants dominate wayfinding worldwide.
