## How it works

Splits text into sentences or paragraphs one per line, adds line numbers, converts between numbered and bulleted lists, and strips existing list markers.

Sentence splitting is harder than a full stop suggests, and naive splitting is why so many tools mangle ordinary prose. "Dr. Smith arrived at 3 p.m. on Jan. 5" contains four full stops and one sentence. This handles the common abbreviations, decimals and ellipses, and it will still get some cases wrong — the problem is genuinely unsolved without understanding the text.

Bullet conversion strips whatever markers are already present before applying the new ones, which is what stops the output from accumulating "1. • item" as it does when you paste between editors.

## Common questions

### Why do sentence splitters break on abbreviations?

Because a full stop is used for abbreviations, decimals and ellipses as well as sentence ends. "Dr. Smith arrived at 3 p.m." has three stops and no sentence break.

### How do I convert a numbered list to bullets?

The tool strips the existing markers first, then applies the new ones — which is what stops output like "1. • item" when pasting between editors.
