Donate or reuse

Clothing banks generally exclude duvets and pillows because the filling is not gradeable as textile and a bank filled with bedding leaves no space for clothes. Animal rescues and kennels are the standard route for clean, dry bedding and often ask for it specifically. Where none will take it, it goes to the household waste centre; feather-filled bedding is compostable in principle but no domestic route handles it. Some councils accept bedding in textile collections and some do not, so check yours.

2. Ring the shelter first — they fill up quickly.
