Every disposable vape contains a small lithium cell that is welded in and cannot be removed by the user, which makes the whole device both electrical waste and battery waste. Retailers that sell vapes are required to take them back in the UK, and the ban on single-use vapes that came into force in June 2025 does not change what to do with the ones already in circulation. If your local shop has no bin, the household waste centre will have a small-electricals cage. Take-back obligations differ by country and by retailer, so check what applies where you are.

## How to prepare it

1. Take the vape whole — do not try to prise the cell out.

3. Refillable devices: remove the pod, then hand over the body.
