What a .odp file is
ODP stores slides in the OpenDocument format, natively in LibreOffice Impress and OpenOffice. PowerPoint opens ODP files and Google Slides imports them, but animations and transitions frequently do not survive the conversion in either direction. For a deck that only needs to be viewed, export to PDF.
Converting it
A .odp file is commonly converted to .pptx, .pdf, .ppt or .jpg. It is a binary format, so a text editor will show unreadable characters rather than its contents.
