Impact

Drawn to be as heavy as possible in as little horizontal space as possible, for headlines. It was bundled with Windows in the core web fonts set in 1996, which put it on every computer, which is why it became the default typeface of image macros — white Impact with a black outline, top and bottom. A 1965 British headline face is now, to most of the world, the font that memes are written in.
