Woven carbon fibre composite
The familiar chequerboard weave, and it is roughly a third as strong as unidirectional laminate of the same weight because half the fibres run the wrong way for any given load and every fibre is kinked where it crosses another. It is chosen for drape and for looks: a woven cloth conforms to a curved mould where unidirectional tape will not. Most visible "carbon fibre" on cars is a single cosmetic weave ply over glass fibre or plastic, contributing nothing structural.

Does it rust?
Woven carbon fibre composite contains no iron, so it cannot rust. Whether it degrades depends on the material, not on oxidation.
