The Mosquitia rainforest on the Caribbean coast is the largest surviving wilderness in Central America, and Río Plátano within it is a World Heritage site. Roatán and the other Bay Islands sit on the same reef system as Belize. Honduras is the only Central American country with no active volcanoes.
