Concorde crossed the Atlantic in about three and a half hours against seven or eight for a subsonic aircraft, and it has not been replaced. The 2000 Paris crash was the trigger but not the cause: the economics had been marginal for years, sonic booms had barred it from overland routes, and after 2001 transatlantic premium traffic collapsed. No commercial supersonic passenger service has operated since.
