4LR44 / A544 The alkaline version in the same can, at 6.0 V with a sloping discharge. Where a camera meter was calibrated for silver oxide the alkaline shifts exposure as it ages; where a bark collar just needs 6 V, either is fine.
2CR1/3N / PX28L The lithium version, 6.0 V and flat, with a decade of shelf life. Usually the best choice, but it is a different chemistry from what an old meter was set up against.

The 4SR44 is a primary cell and must never be put in a charger. Charging a sealed primary battery builds gas pressure inside a can with no vent designed for it, which is how they rupture or catch fire. Rechargeable look-alikes exist for several sizes and carry different codes — check the code, not the shape.
