What a .toml file is

TOML was created by Tom Preston-Werner as a config format with obvious semantics and no indentation traps, using INI-style sections with proper types. Rust's Cargo.toml, Python's pyproject.toml and Hugo's config all use it. It is plain text, so any editor opens one.

Converting it

A .toml file is commonly converted to .json, .yaml or .txt. It is a plain text format, so any text editor can open and edit it directly.
