What is a .toml file?

Tom's Obvious Minimal Language. TOML was created by Tom Preston-Werner as a config format with obvious semantics and no indentation traps, using INI-style sections with proper types. Rust's Cargo.toml, Python's pyproject.toml and Hugo's config all use it.

Can I convert a .toml file?

Yes. It is usually converted to .json, .yaml or .txt, either by exporting from one of the programs listed above or with a format converter.
