CR2025 battery
What replaces a CR2025
DL2025, ECR2025, KCR2025, LM2025, BR2025L, SB-T14
3 V lithium (primary), 20 × 2.5 mm (diameter × height)
The CR2025 is a single-use 3 V lithium (primary) coin cell. The codes below are the same physical cell sold under different manufacturer names, and any of them will fit.

- No — never charge it
Codes that mean the same battery
| Code | Fits? |
|---|---|
| DL2025 | Yes — same cell |
| ECR2025 | Yes — same cell |
| KCR2025 | Yes — same cell |
| LM2025 | Yes — same cell |
| BR2025L | Yes — same cell |
| SB-T14 | Yes — same cell |
| 5003LC | Yes — same cell |
| L12 | Yes — same cell |
Codes that look close but are not
| Code | Why it is not a substitute |
|---|---|
| CR2032 | Same diameter but 0.7 mm thicker. In a spring-loaded holder it usually fits and gives you more runtime; in a tight slot-in holder — several car key fobs and slim remotes — it will not seat, and forcing it bends the contact. |
| LIR2025 | Rechargeable lithium-ion at 3.6 V in the same shell. Never put a CR2025 in a charger. |
The CR2025 is a primary cell and must never be put in a charger. Charging a sealed primary battery builds gas pressure inside a can with no vent designed for it, which is how they rupture or catch fire. Rechargeable look-alikes exist for several sizes and carry different codes — check the code, not the shape.
Where it turns up
- Car key fobs, especially Toyota, Honda and Ford
- Kitchen and body scales
- Calculators and digital thermometers
- LED tea lights and novelty toys
Energizer rates it at 170 mAh to a 2.0 V cut-off; other brands publish 150–165 mAh. It is the CR2032 with a quarter of the thickness removed, and roughly a quarter less capacity.
Common questions
- What is equivalent to a CR2025?
- DL2025, ECR2025, KCR2025, LM2025, BR2025L, SB-T14, 5003LC, L12 — all the same 3 V cell under different manufacturer codes.
- Can I use a CR2032 instead of a CR2025?
- Same diameter but 0.7 mm thicker. In a spring-loaded holder it usually fits and gives you more runtime; in a tight slot-in holder — several car key fobs and slim remotes — it will not seat, and forcing it bends the contact.
- Is the CR2025 rechargeable?
- No. It is a primary cell — charging one risks rupture or fire. Rechargeable look-alikes exist in the same size under different codes.
