How many steps to the top of Sacré-Cœur dome?
The 300 steps to the dome are a separate ticket from the basilica, which is free, and there is no lift at any stage. Because Montmartre is the highest hill in Paris, the dome gallery is the second-highest publicly accessible viewpoint in the city after the Eiffel Tower. Before the dome steps there are around 220 more from the street to the basilica terrace, or a funicular that uses a Métro ticket. The travertine the basilica is built from bleaches white in rain, which is why it never looks dirty.
