How many steps to the top of Statue of Liberty (pedestal)?
The National Park Service counts 215 steps from the lobby to the top of the pedestal, and a lift serves the same level for visitors who need it. This is where most people stop: pedestal tickets are far more numerous than crown tickets and the view is arguably better, because you are looking at the statue rather than out of it. The pedestal alone is as tall as a fifteen-storey building. Everything above this point is a spiral staircase with no lift and no alternative.
