LR44 / A76 / AG13 Dimensionally identical and swapped constantly, but a different battery. Alkaline gives 1.5 V falling steadily from the moment you fit it; silver oxide holds 1.55 V almost flat and then stops. In a toy or a torch either works. In a film camera meter, a digital caliper, a pH meter or a laboratory balance the alkaline's drifting voltage shows up as a reading that is slowly and silently wrong — which is worse than a battery that is simply dead.
4SR44 / A544 Four of these in one 13 × 25.2 mm can, giving 6.2 V. Not a single cell and not a substitute for one.

The SR44 is a primary cell and must never be put in a charger. Charging a sealed primary battery builds gas pressure inside a can with no vent designed for it, which is how they rupture or catch fire. Rechargeable look-alikes exist for several sizes and carry different codes — check the code, not the shape.
