Do not iron
Do not iron
Do not iron this item at any temperature.
What it looks like
An outline of an iron with a cross through it.
What it means
Usually a surface issue rather than a heat one: velvet and corduroy crush permanently, waterproof coatings and heat-sealed seams delaminate, sequins and vinyl prints melt onto the plate, and textured or seersucker weaves lose the texture that is the point of them. Where the garment still needs the creases out, hang it in a steamy bathroom or use a hand steamer held clear of the fabric — unless the label also carries the do-not-steam symbol.
Defined by ISO 3758. Where a symbol differs between standards, the difference is described above rather than resolved — both versions are in circulation on real labels.
