What it means

The most restrictive dry-cleaning instruction in common use: a specific solvent class and a constrained process. It turns up on structured silk, embellished eveningwear and vintage pieces where both the dye and the construction are fragile. A cleaner without hydrocarbon equipment should decline the item rather than substitute perc.

Defined by ISO 3758. Where a symbol differs between standards, the difference is described above rather than resolved — both versions are in circulation on real labels.
